After spending almost an entire day playing IIDX Sinobuz at a Round 1 arcade (US), my desire to play IIDX has resurfaced, and I come here with a few questions about how to get started again.
I have a Japanese Konami Beatmania IIDX controller, but I want to get a controller that feels the same as the arcade controller. Someone recommended this: https://www.gamo2.com/en/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=309. What are the differences between the controllers, and would this one be okay to get?
I want to know of my options for actual gameplay. I don't live anywhere near an arcade that has an IIDX cabinet. I hear that Infinitas is a subscription-based game I can also play, with some song list limitations, apparently. I also have a Japanese PS2 and IIDX Styles 5th through Empress as well. Are there any ways of playing the arcade version of IIDX without needing to go to an arcade? If the methods are...sketchy, would someone message me privately with regard to this? Also, is Infinitas worth getting?
I used to play with maybe four fingers total for years and years (shadowing, not actually playing), but once I read online that using your thumbs is the key to being able to play harder songs, I went from only being able to play the easiest of easy songs in Another and lvl 7 and 8s on Hyper, to being able to play most Hyper songs and up to lvl 10 Another songs. What other tips can you guys give me to improve from here on out, or is it really just down to practicing more and more?
For playing on my JP PS2, CRT is the way to go for monitors, correct? To go along with this question, if I were to play Infinitas, playing on my monitor would suffice?
